Drop-A-Pad-With-A-Bike initiative

We give girls from marginalized backgrounds sanitary pads and teach them about menstrual hygiene and sexual reproductive health. We had a sanitary pick up point at our day care/safe house in Bomani village, Kikambala where marginalized girls and women in the community we are working in picked sanitary pads for free when in need. From the beginning of the initiative in June of 2020 over 3,000 girls have been impacted by it. So many marginalized girls miss school for two weeks to over a month in any given year due to lack of sanitary pads which makes them afraid of going to school when they are having their periods. We try to fill that gap so that they continue with their schooling uninterupted.
